We had a fantastic time together this afternoon down in our woodland area working hard to learn about changes in the seasons.
First, Mrs Bell reminded us of the important rules we have to follow to keep us safe.
Our first task was to use our different senses to talk about what we could hear and see. We talked about how the woods have changed over the Summer and how they look now at the beginning of Autumn.
We closed our eyes and listened carefully.
We can hear… cars, lorries, a bird and the wind rustling the trees.
We can see… tall and short trees, bugs under the logs, brown and yellow leaves.
After a quick game of Hide and Seek, our next task was work in small groups to go on a scavenger hunt to look for different things. The older children helped the younger children – what fantastic teamwork!
Can you see Alfie finding lots of different types of slugs?!
Making mud cakes in the kitchen!
We were brave when climbing trees!
We loved to make music with the instruments.
